bangkok weekend getaway

its been a week since i came back from my weekend OC.. bangkok that was.

first day - arrived BKK airport around 830am. went to baiyoke suite hotel where we stayed. location is impressive, its just across from pratunam, the room was big enough for two but i was dissapointed. its not well lighted and the tivo was in in the living room :( they didnt replenish the shower caps and cotton buds. there were no agencies offering tours..

after settling down and disappointments died down, went to pratunam and bought loads of slacks.its cheap what can i do. for 170thb each but the catch: we can never try it but still that didnt stop me from buying. I bought plenty of bath/milk salt also, just for 17thb each pack.

after that short stop, which we didnt intend to do 'coz we're hungry we continued looking for a place to eat however it seems that luck we're not with us coz we could not find anything. there seems to be no good food near our place. we went to fashion mall across pratunam. but we only found their food center and swensens which served ice cream only on their menu. so, ang ending KFC kame :( after devouring our chicken, we walked again going to the nearest bts station.

with our shopping bags which were quite heavy, we went to chatuchak. it was such a big place i felt that there's not enough time to explore. seeing the roof of the stores from the bts, kakalula na. its also hot and plenty of people and hirap maglakad esp if carrying plastic bags. there, i bought wood bangles, bkk shirts, bags and belts. after 3 hours of walking and carrying heavy items, we decided to go and call it a day in chatuchak.

we took the bts again and go to siam. we went to hard rock cafe just to buy shirts and then had or dinner across. we had pineapple rice. yummy! we took the tuktuk going home however when we realized that its expensive pala nasa hotel na kame. we paid 150thb for the ride which is twice of what we pay if we took the cab.

after resting, off we go to suam lum night bazaar. this place is big also but compared to chatuchak, this is not congested with shoppers. there, we got to buy tops with beads for 100thb. and i bought an extra virgin coconut oil for my hair :P

were there for a few hours too then paguwi namin may night bazaar din outside the hotel, so ikot-ikot pa din kame dun. di naman kame napagod noh? hehe

second day - we went to grand palace and wat po.. then off to the jewelry store where they sell gems and stones cheaper daw. i bought my mom and aunt a mixed-semi precious stones bracelet and an elephant pendant for me. went to the hotel and then go to isetann for my wacoal shopping. they are on sale until the 7th of may. i bought quite a few items in isetann for may nieces too. when we decided to go to gaysor and mbk, its raining naman. hayy.. and since wala naman na kame plan i-buy dun we went home na lang. and looked for sampalok in pratunam but we've been walking for an hour and wala na kame makita. plus, almost all the stores were closed early maybe because of the rain or bec its sunday. when we finally found it, we're so exhausted already. went home, freshen up then go to spa for our oil massage.

we contracted the taxi driver we met going to the jewelry store to drive us to the airport the following day. i had a hard time remembering the exact time of our departure flight so we scheduled it early. back to the hotel, i found out that what we told the driver was an hour late! hayy.. we could

third day - we're up early because we wanted to get light breakfast first before checking out. it was an eat and run thing when we finally check out, its raining cats and dogs! and of course, the taxi is not there. we decided to get a different taxi na lang otherwise we'll be late na talaga. actually, we're almost late na din pala at that time we arrived at the airport.

it was fun experience and bangkok is a shopping haven talaga! maybe its a good thing na ndi ako mahilig sa tiangge if not, baka over the baggage allowance kame hehe
